All of us are waiting for the month of December to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. Every Christmas, we often hear of the word "change". They say that they will change their bad deeds to have a better life. After the said celebration, they will do their bad doings again. But what is really the true essence of Christmas? Is it about being happy because we gave many gifts also? Or is it about the bunch of foods that are in our table? Eating a lot even if there are a lot of people who are not eating because of the calamities that they have experienced and had never been aroused from the hardships that they are experiencing? What is it really about?
Change is a big word. We should change our bad deeds because we really want to, not because it's Christmas. We should change not only for ourselves but also for the betterment of everybody..... Christmas is also about giving gifts without expecting anything in return.
This year, many of us do not celebrate Christmas parties anymore because we thought of sharing it to the victims of the world's strongest typhoon ever which is typhoon Yolanda. Instead of eating, laughing, having fun and living like a man with no problems; they are sacrificing to be able to make the victims not alone and feel blessed. It's very touching because this shows that when it comes to hard times, we can see the unity, love and the willingness to help, the rise of our fellow Filipinos will soon come into sight.
Whatever we will do this Christmas, we should not forget to pray and give thanks for the blessings we have received and will receive.
