our future depends on ourself

When I saw you before, you look so perfect. There is nothing that could be changed, but because of the abuse that you have experienced and experiencing, the perfection that I saw in you before already changed. Who did these to you? Why did you let Why did you let climate change crawl into you?

Climate changed, greatest threat facing our planet today. You’re a warming planet which alters weather patterns, water supplies, seasonal growth for plants and a sustainable way of life for us and your wildlife. Our greatest enemy, climate change, has already started, but it’s not too late to take action. There’s still a time for us all to be a part of the solution.

We can celebrate your time (planet hour) once a year for you ---- and go beyond the hour towards a sustainable future. Although the journey to a sustainable future may seem difficult to imagine, it is far from possible. We can do our part individually and together.

going global through English language

A global economic and political structure needs a common tongue. Everyone has their own reasons on why they want to learn on how to speak in English. English is well on its way to becoming the dominant global language. Is this a good thing?
Instead of learning all of the different languages of the different countries of the world for us to understand and speak with each other, there should be one universal language that we should learn and it is the English language. How can we gain foreign friends if we do not know how to speak in English? Maybe we’ll just say, “What the hell is he/she is talkin’ about?” How can we be able to communicate with our boss if for example we will work in abroad? It would make communication across cultures much easier with the help of this language. Language may be a cornerstone of culture, but the culture itself would not have to disappear if English were used as a second or third language for the pure purpose of communicating globally.

Last Sunday, November 10, 2013 at exactly 4:00 in the morning, Ms. Venezuela was announced as Ms. Universe 2013. Only the representative of the Philippines used the international language. Even the proclaimed winner had a translator. In my own opinion, how can she promote or how can she speak with the people all around the world that needs her help if she does not know how to speak in English? Not everybody knows how to speak in a Venezuelan language. The next time that they will organize that kind of pageant, they should require all contestant to speak in English to be fair. Just like in the question and answer portion which is a big impact to their grades, we can say that while the translator is talking or interpreting the contestant’s answer, the contestant is already thinking for a better phrase or sentence which is unfair for the contestants that are talking in pure English.

equal rights, equal opportunities

On the ancient days, there are discriminations that are happening between men and women. Women are less important before because they believe that they don't have the ability to learn and work to be able to support the family. But now, the Philippines is already modernized. Both men and women can work, even women can be a politician and great businesswomen. What men can do, women can do better.

This cruelty is felt in all sectors of life: financial, social, political, cultural, sexual, religious and even within the family itself. Having become conscious of their human rights and of the injustices perpetrated against them in all these sectors, there is need to team up with them and help them.

We should be aware that the liberation of women from these injustices is part and package of the liberation of all the poor and exploited.

wika natin ang daang matuwid

Every year, we celebrate our national language month in the month of august. This is to show our Filipino language is very important and our love for our country. but, are we really doing these?
Because of our passion in learning different foreign languages, we give less attention to our own language which is the Filipino language. Our language is? Filipino. Yes, this is our real language. The language that will lead us to success.  What country do we belong? We are in the? Philippines. Our language is? Filipino. But why is it that we often use  foreign language  in talking to our classmates, friends, teachers and relatives? Being a Filipino, we should be proud of what we have or what we use. This will give us the success that we are aiming for not only for ourselves but also for the entire country. We all know that English is our international language. But, it is not enough for us to forget and idolize this language. We often use this language as a basis on how intelligent a person is.
Filipino language is known in the world. With the help of our unity, we will reach the word called “success”  because of our own language.
